Seems very likely the Windows 7 boost is tied to a large boost of the Chinese user base in December. I removed it three times when it was released and I am not going back despite it being free of charge. I know I will never be on 10 in my lifetime. I'd say those nrs suggest peeps are returning back to 7 from 10 and 8 is not even on the radar.
